Sport plays a huge part in the life of our school. In line with Blessed Edmund Rice's aim to promote Gaelic culture, Gaelic Football, Hurling and Athletics are our primary disciplines. 2017/18 was our most sucessful year to date with our teams returning an U14 Hurling North Leinster title, an U16 Football North Leinster, Leinster and All-Ireland title while our Athletics team brought home Leinster and All-Ireland titles for a second year in succession. This sucess was unprecidented but not entirely unexpected as the work invested by students and staff was quite astounding.
With the arrival of Mr. Boudin came basketball training as a regular Wednesday feature in the gym. Soccer is played by many students at lunchtime and in-school tournaments and even Student V Teachers games are scheduled within the school year. All students are timetabled for two classes of PE each week. This ensures students are given a chance to escape the classroom academics. PE also allows students experience a broad range of sports including Rugby, Swimming and Volleyball. While you are here, have a look at the video below.
